Thread: Pro. Brandon Stokley

  1. Default Re: Tracking the Preaux Career of Brandon Stokley

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Brandon Stokley acknowledged Monday that he actually suffered his 10th career concussion on his first catch against Jacksonville, not on the third one, when he lost his balance and fell to his knees.

In between, he scored his second touchdown of the season.

“It happened on my first catch, I got my head slammed,” the Denver Broncos’ slot receiver said. “And then the touchdown, I got head-butted a few times from some teammates. So, that didn’t help.”

But Stokley, who suffered a bad concussion in college at UL and figures he’s had three severe head injuries and seven minor concussions — like this one — in his decade in the NFL, didn’t want to come out of the game.

Brandon Stokely Stops Brandon Marshall From Performing an Obama-Themed TD Celebration

What a huge play by Brandon. With as good of a kick returner as Josh Cribbs is, a 15 yd penalty would have set the Browns up in Bronco territory. Stokely pretty much saved the game or at least gave his defense a fighting chance with a huge heads up vet play.

The guys on ESPN were saying that this was the play of the game! They kept giving Brandon his props.

The mark of a true veteran. Stoke did it without embarrassing the kid. I understand Marshall's intent, but props to him for understanding that the good of the team was much more important.

    A good show all around.

Six of Brandon Stokley's last eight catches have resulted in first downs over the past two games. He's now converted 24 times on his 36 receptions

  6. UL Football Broncos' Stokley is comfortable with his role

ENGLEWOOD • Brandon Stokley is 33 years old, suffered another concussion last season, became the fourth receiver in the Denver Broncos’ pecking order this offseason and doesn’t play special teams.

Yet he’s still around because he always gets open and catches about everything thrown his way.

Stokley easily was the leading receiver in Thursday’s scrimmage, a continuation of his strong training camp. Denver gave $10 million to receiver Jabar Gaffney this offseason to complement starters Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal, but Stokley is earning his own role.

  7. UL Football Stokley, not Marshall, starring for Broncos

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Sure enough, a flashy receiver named Brandon with a knack for making tough catches and evading tacklers is turning heads at the Denver Broncos' training camp.

But the man making new quarterback Kyle Orton feel right at home is Brandon Stokley, not Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall.

While Marshall makes all his news off the field — he's asked for a raise and a trade and skipped offseason workouts in protest of his contract and medical treatment — Stokley has established himself as Orton's top target.

Default Brandon Stokely is Still the Man

Just saw on the Fox Update, Brandon Stokely caught a "tipped" passed and ran for 87 yards for a touchdown that was the game winner for Denver. Great to see he's still go it!!!

Right time right play my _____. Just a great UL grad using his head. I loved how he took time off the clock by running the goal line. I've done that many times in Madden and NCAA games never thinking it would catch on. GEAUX BRANDON!
