Do you people actually think they are going to renovate Blackham for this??? I see them droping a hockey rink in the middle and hoping for the best!

If they want it to be a success. Sorry wooden benches! When I go into an arena expect a chair. Call me spoiled but it is the 21st century. My wife wont be attending games if she is riding a bench.

Got to disagree there. I like a cushy seat not hardwood. If they don't want to spend to much on renovations then just make a few sections with chairs and charge a higher price for them.

Hmmm, sounds like a possible concession idea: rent cushioned bench chairs, you know those clamp-on folding seats. I bet those would be VERY popular (at least until everyone buys their own and totes them to the games)? I don't expect to see any major upgrades to Blackham either. If the NEW IceGators do well, maybe in the future but, not right away.

That is what I should have said. Maybe later if they do well, but not right away.

Enjoy the bench seats...makes for a nice loud arena with it being smaller.

Danny Smith said that they will get stadium seats and sell them at a reduce rate. And if you won't go to the games because of the wooden seat than you won't go to the football games because of the metal seats. Unless you have chair back seats which consist of about 20% of the stadium plus the extra $$$$$$$.

Did he say if they were going to serve beer? Will it be at the premium price the cajundome demands?

If UL don't object to it I am sure they will sell beer. They did in the dome untill the third period. As far as the price they were sold in the dome for $4 if I remember right. Hockey and beer goes together.
