This is Just My View and I don't care who reads or like it. All issues none pitching that this team has is coaching issues.
1. The staff should have went King, Hoover, King to match the USM ace. They didn't do it and the lack of rest didnt help King.
2. TWICE with runners at 1B and 2B with one out they have Cissy bunt. This is a four year proven starter. What kind of message do you send to anyone bunting in that situation with one out? More less your veteran clean up hitter.
3. Bunting Watts off the bench with a runner at 1B and one out and down 5-1. They knew actually what the Cajuns were doing. The corners were 35 ft from the plate. What did the Cajuns expect Williams to hit a two run bomb after advancing the runner?
4. Speaking of Williams why is she batting ninth? She needs more at bats, not less.
5. Playing the outfield in with the wind blowing out. Outfield play was bad all weekend.
6. Sending Liscano to 2B with one out and getting thrown out to get the second out. Why not hold the runner and steal the next pitch. If they throw it down Knox scores from third. We will trade an out for a run every time.
7. They couldn't touch Hoover's drop and change up yet we keep throwing rise balls with the wind blowing out.
8. The lineup changes way too often. We have four kids fighting for playing time in RF. Stutes, Knox, Norwood, Watts.
This staff by now should have identified every single players role by the mid point of the season. They have failed to do that and it's too much mixing and matching.
These reasons are a big part of why this team is the most inconsistent team in the country. Clean up the coaching issues and we should be fine. And for the folks thinking I don't like the bunt. That is not true at all. I actually like bunting when needed, I just don't like the bunting in the situations that the Cajuns have been bunting in. It has cost us outs over and over which leads to less chances for runs. Overall as much as the Cajuns bunt, the execution sucks. Go watch Southeastern bunt, they put on a clinic.
