I started this compilation in 2005 when I was looking for positives and ways to make "ULL" work by converting the two L's in Louisiana Lafayette into a single giant U. Obviously, an exercise in futility.
Originally it was a .wmv file which the web can no longer read, so I converted it to .mp4 so I could post it again.
Its a medley of clips with arms raised to signify ULL
The video is old, small and not high quality, but I had a lot of fun creating it.
In the opening graphic sequence I was taking the two L's of Louisiana and Lafayette and converting them into a "U"
The two raised arms were representative of the two L's merged into U.
Since then Louisiana has won the name battle, but not the fight.
The visual tie-in to the U is no longer needed but I still think it could be used to get the crowd involved.
Earlier in 2003, about a year after I came up with the UL hand sign, I had done the ULL=U thing with two hands.
At that time the UL hand sign hadn't taken off yet. I didn't know if it would. I can't find the compilation even though I still have the pics from the effort. its probably in .wmv format but I don't know what I named it.
But it wasn't long before the UL sign took off and I never revisited the double hands making a single U again.
