Glenn Cyprien back as a head coach in ncaa

Former UL head basketball coach (for a brief minute) is interim head coach at tarleton state. Billy Gillespie current HBC was placed on administrative leave as they investigate mistreatment of players. Glenn Cyprien has been named interim HC. If some of you remember Cyprien was UL named head coach and then it was discovered that he lied on his resume and had not graduated from an accredited college. I assume he has rectified that situation.

I remember the Cyprien situation well. At the time, Cyprien basically lied on his resume. His degree was not from an accredited university. The Basketball HC job then went to Robert Lee. He had a good first year with the players left over from the Jessie Evans era but struggled thereafter. AD Nelson Schexnayder resigned shortly Cyprien was let go. Coach Marlin has been at North Florida as Assistant HC since early August. He accepted that job in July. He chose that role over other opportunities (yes none were at P4 type schools) simply because he will qualify to join the Florida retirement system with only a little more time of working in that state.

Nelson Schexnayder backed himself into a corner by declaring that Robert Lee came in second to Glynn Cyprien in the coaching search.

He basically had no choice but to hire Robert E. Lee after the Cyprien debacle.

Coach Bob Marlin’s wife owns a condo near Panama City. I think it is 4 hours from Jacksonville which is where North Florida is located.

And just like that Cyprien's reign as head coach is over. Gillespie has been reinstated as head coach.
