Isn't that what we have now with the NEZ grassy area? I argued for bowling the stadium and doing away with the play area while the game is going on. High schoolish. Now we want to put a a bar area in the NEZ which I think is a great idea. But putting a drinking area right on top of a kid's play area is not so good. So, build the bar area on top of stadium seats and do away with the babysitting, play area. It will take just one kid getting a serious injury to stop it.
I get the concern, and I agree that safety and atmosphere are both critical. But I don’t think we have to choose between creating a vibrant bar space and keeping the stadium family-friendly. The current NEZ grassy area feels like a missed opportunity it’s not immersive, and it doesn’t fully serve either group. But with smart design, it could become a real asset.
Imagine a tiered layout: an elevated Ragin Box-style bar terrace with seating and railings above, and a dedicated kids zone below fenced, maybe the kids have to be with there parents. Maybe having to sign a waiver like you would have to do at Surge IDK. It needs to be intentionally designed for safety and engagement. It gives parents peace of mind and gives fans a space to socialize without compromising the game day experience.
We don’t need to scrap the concept we need to execute it better. Done right, it becomes a signature part of Cajun Field.
I have to say one of the hardest things to do is bringing a child to a packed football game. You have to watch them.
Yeah, scrap the hill..
If you thought 15k was bad.....
Color me confused
"Scrap the hill"
"Build seating to watch your kids on the hill"
