Dark red areas are the high availability areas. Clicked around in some and we’ve sold less than 20 tickets in some. My hope: people who have become disenchanted with the continuous gameday operations failures are using this first season as a test. Go to a game or two and see how it works. May sound dramatic but it is imperative we hit the ground running and have this thing running like a well oiled machine on day one. Despite increased success on the field, stadium experience deteriorated greatly over the last decade. We only get one shot with some folks at proving we’ve reversed course in the new facility. I’ve got hope but not much in the way of faith on this one. Fingers crossed.
I’m sure you know, just like everyone on this board does, that renovations were never the real issue. The real problem is that we chased out the blue-collar, average Joe fan—the welders, the teachers, the small business owners, the guys who worked all week, or the guy that works off-shore who has 3 kids. These were the people who brought their families, fired up the grill, and made tailgating a tradition. They didn’t need luxury boxes or premium seating—they needed a place that felt like theirs. But when prices went up, tailgating was restricted, and the rules started pushing people away, we lost them. And let’s be honest: they’re not coming back unless we give them a reason.
Building the stadium wasn’t the mistake. If we want to fill seats again and bring back the energy that made this place special, we need to speak directly to the fans of Acadiana the working-class folks who built this culture from the ground up. Their pride, their grit, their sense of community that’s what we lost. And once you lose that connection, it’s hard to get it back. But I believe we can. If we’re willing to listen, own what went wrong, and rebuild the experience around them not above them we can bring it all back. We just have to mean it.
Big, wide bar under the new north EZ scoreboard (see attached photo).
4-5 rows standing room bar tops at the top of the hill that span the entire EZ grass area, save for 4-5 walk ways with access to the hill as-is.
Would absolutely crush. You could do a package deal with booze included and a GA ticket, maybe throw in a small fee for the kid. Tickets would sell out instantly.
Exactly this! i have posted this before
