They don’t want those kinds of fans.

I can think of 5 easy steps to increase the gameday atmosphere. Sad part is that not a single one would ever be implemented.

Condensed all RCAF parking passes to the paved areas of Cajuns Field.

Put in several medians in the gravel parking lot. Make those medians 20’ deep and plant Live Oak trees every 50’. Per game parking would cost $20/vehicle and make the medians “free tailgating”. It would bring campus beautification with the addition of 50-75 new oaks.

Use the same system that Festival International uses for purchasing concessions. The wrist bands tied to an account.

    Keep the $2 Natty Light

Allow student to actually tailgate next to the stadium. UP’s should only intervene for fights and excessive public intoxication. Have a DJ for the students and create a different atmosphere for them. The students are the driving force for the atmosphere of each game.

Have a festival type atmosphere on Cajun Dome BLVD from Bourgeois Hall to Congress. Charge a GA ticket to enter, provide the same wristband from above. Have local food trucks, themed cooking comps, don’t charge the vendors letting them keep all the profits. Cost of attending is a GA ticket.

That’s just a start, but none of those would ever happen. Like I said, we don’t want 50k in and around Cajun Field on gameday.

I actually like everything you mentioned. Except the "free tailgating" I think a reasonable charge should be included. I've always wondered why dont they use the old intramural fields for any kind of tailgating and let people park at blackham.
