New Additions to Cajun Baseball Team

Defintely control issues, hence my posts hoping the new pitching coach can refine some things. The kid throws 102 mph and is nicknamed “Mr. Triple Digits” but needs to harness his stuff. It’s a BIG TIME arm though.

I once heard a pro baseball player explain that on average, the fastest pitchers you’ll see aren’t in MLB. They are in single A ball. Literally everyone who can throw 3 digits will get a pro contract. But most of these guys never learn how to control it so they never make it past single A.

Hopefully this kid can figure it out.

I’m just hoping we can reverse a troubling trend. The last 2-3 summers & falls, we’ve had kids come in here and look amazing. But for whatever reason, when the season starts, they can’t perform.

Lol. I can tell you with absolute certainty, this whole “no summer ball” BS has everything to do with testing loyalty and imposing will, and nothing to do with individual development.

Summer ball, especially the Cape is where the poachers recruit these days. Teams recruit high school players in July then in fall ball. They spend most of their summer recruiting the summer collegiate leagues.
