I think this is in open corner of intersection. Garden Inn, cajundome and Cajun Field at other corners. New hotel, indoor parking and extra meeting rooms have been studied for Cajundome area. Looking for four star plus hotel versus what we have in Lafayette now. Major investment. All on UL/state land.
A Giant parking structure / Office complex OVER the intersection of Congress and Cajun Dome Blvd.
Low land loss, instant access to the four corners of your choosing.
Seattle has something similar. We could do it. Structural engineers would make a lot of money.
One issue I haven’t seen discussed with proposed hotel is the airport approach. I think the east west runway limits the height of structures near Cajun Field. Likely it’s not brought up because my memory is heading south but I think it’s a thing.
This is the report from KATC. https://www.katc.com/lafayette-paris...-officials-say
Looks like it will be constructed on the tract of land bordered by UHC and the Lite Center.
Would UL student athletes and coaches be able to use the facilities for practice?
I'm just confused. That was going to be where the newly proposed performing arts center would be located. But you're right, KATC is highlighting that area. Meanwhile, KADN is highlighting CF parking lot bordering Cajundome Blvd. Wish they would be more specific on where this planned indoor practice facility would be built, where the new hotel would be built, and finally if the planned performing arts academy is DOA.
