Package it with something like this and we got a solid revenue stream.

A Tech vs. UL matchup feels like something. It has regional tension, recognizable names, and just enough edge to grab attention. That’s what gets a casual fan to buy a ticket, bring their family, and talk about the game at work the next day.

If we’re serious about growing our base and bringing back the fans who’ve drifted away, we need to stop thinking like diehards and start thinking like the people we’re trying to win back. Casual fans fill seats. Casual fans create buzz. Casual fans are the difference between a packed house and an empty one. And right now, Tech moves the needle more than most want to admit.

That isn’t just for us thats for ULM, Ark St. Southern Miss etc.
You think LaTech is the same as they we're when we were all in the Gulf State Conference. They have 3 straight losing seasons playing in the worst conference. You think the average fan is gonna come sellout Cajunfield to watch 3 win Tech team. Maybe the first year but after that it's just another Monroe.

Think like a casual fan not a diehard fan. We have more of a history with LaTech then ULM. The fact we havent play in over a decade specially in conference play makes a difference.
Just as many fans will boycott Tech as who go because they are Tech.

I’m not saying it’s a sell-out, but let’s be real—the casual fan probably doesn’t even know those deeper facts.

What they do see is Tech vs. UL, and that alone sparks interest—especially since we haven’t played them in over a decade. That kind of matchup feels fresh, different, and worth showing up for.

And once they’re there? That’s when the conversations start. They talk to other fans, hear the buzz, and realize, “Wait—they’re in the same conference now?

    Which would spark more interest.

You do realize we’ve been playing tech in every sport but football all these years, right? And you know who doesn’t show up? The casual fan.

The difference in crowd is negligible. This is not a money making boon that people want it to be. Again, this isn’t 2005.

I am not saying its the end all be all. Not saying that. We have 100 steps to get the average fans back and this is 1 step in 100 that does move the needle a little bit.

No matter who Sunbelt added...it wouldnt move the needle tremendously with the casual fan. Tech was the best bet in that regard. West Florida was a close second.
