I had the opposite experience. Our Dean Zappi made sure that #2 was a Ragin’ Cajun Engineer. Matched or beat the Texas schools. But then again that was 20 years ago.

I’ve always heard good things about Zappi.

I’ll say this in regards to my two oldest, that school across the Basin much more responsive and proactive in trying to get them to attend than my alma mater. It was quite depressing to see the difference.

Electrical. He made money going to school. Skeeter taught him well.

Promotion of athletics teaches the entire institution how to recruit.

Fail at promoting athletics to students and the entire institution falls flat in that area.

Same here, and I'll tell you, UL does a ____ job of trying to recruit students compared to our peers. They honestly should be embarrassed.

I'm 100% in agreement with this. My youngest graduated high school this year and made the decision not to come to UL. Campus recruiting tour was p--s poor to say the least. I was disappointed but not surprised. They USLed that also.

Ultimately his decision not to come to UL was more based on academic offerings and student resources. Just very disappointing how lazy the university is.

Many universities, ours included are shifting focus to online offerings. It provides way more margins and less requirements for facility upkeep.

Unfortunately, while we have progressed slowly in academic reputation, we are like most Louisiana government agencies, always falling short of what we could be.

Tech ... ... Their Biomechanical Engineering offerings was one of the major deciding factors.
