Ohio is a decent program. But the SBC west should block them from getting in the conference. If we do add Ohio [or any other school in the SBC East footprint], the SBC west will soon find themselves abandoned by the east in favor of an 8 team bus league on the East Coast.
NONE of the schools in the east want to travel west to play any games.
The current Sun Belt Conference was put together by ESPN; it can be re-configured by them, too.
Take a guess who doesn’t care if you can take a bus to play your games? If they east wants to break off, they can, if they can get a new conference approved. They will each pay the $10 million in exit fees. South Alabama is an original SBC member from 1976, Cajuns and ULM are original football members. The east can’t take the SBC for basically the same reason ULM isn’t getting kicked out. Why would they go through all that to avoid 1 road game vs the west a year?
Old dominion womens hoops was sunbelt champions 3 straight years from 83 to 85 including a National Championship, is that sunbelt's only "major sport" national title?
