Iowa state and Mizzou are both meh but a ranked win against a P4 for a program like ours is great regardless of who it is. All the cards fell right for us in 2020 and parlayed that into 2021. Had we beaten Texas to open the year who knows where our program would be right now. Obviously a ranked win over Texas while we are also ranked trumps anything we’ve ever done as a program. Mizzou has been quietly building since drinkowitz has been there and it wouldn’t surprise me if they were ranked around the 10-15 range when we play them. Having said that we won’t get many chances to jump the mwc or aac conference champs in the playoff race. It’s imperative that we steal on from Mizzou.

Don’t forget who said no when UL was scrambling for a game due to Covid, which lead to the Iowa State game.

Tulane was an afterthought conference-wise until they had that good season and beat USC. Now, they are the first team thought of for conference expansion, at least among the G6 conferences. Now, if UL has that kind of break out season this year .........

No, that was Memphis because of their funds. But Tulane's dream of the Big 12 are gone when Houston jumped. And we don't know how long the that will continue but they just signed a $25M NIL deal with FedEx. Tulane does not have that money and haven't put together anything close to it.

I think to $200M to $300M lifetime, but this gift was from Fred Smith heirs. I don't know how much money they will contribute now that he is dead.
