Damn! that's a new one alright. They went with an "inner coliseum" looks like, 12 rows deep (up) from field. Ran a walkway next which gives very quick access to your section but the "upper deck" goes to the sky! Look how many steps there are to those high seats. That's crazy.

I’m pretty sure lowering the top of the new west side bowl had to do with ADA related issues dealing with entry into stadium

The old entry ramps were too steep for current ADA specs or something to that effect

Regarding Memphis, Florida state is doing something similar although not quite as drastic

Even so, the new seating is much lower than the concourse. You'll have to walk down a flight of stairs (or a long ramp) to get to them.

The original seating had 35 rows. The end zone seating with the lower concourse has 30. The new seating typically ends at row 22.

I'm all for reducing capacity. I just wish we could have done it on the other side where nobody wants to sit. I fear there are people who would like to go to a game if they could sit on the shaded west side, but would stay home if they had to sit in the sun. It can be dangerously and unbearably hot on that side.

I understand the club seating. I don't understand removing huge sections of seating in the most prime locations.

Go look at our seating map for seats available in the chairbacks. Everything between the 25’s are pretty much taken up except most of the lower rows. I would hardly call those lower rows prime seating even if they are on the 50. You can’t see Jack down there so I can definitely see why fsu did it that way.

Went visit the stadium today. Any idea when the new turf will be installed? I assume that is a month long project?

I am no expert and have no real knowledge about such things, but I have to assume replacement of the turf is a much quicker process than initial installation since all of the subsurface drainage and foundation is already in place. We will see.

I haven’t heard anything about a new turf. When did that new rumor come up? The only work on turf I foresee is the reversal of the logo at midfield.

It is definitely happening this summer. Don’t know when though.
