Letters of Intent are somewhat cosmetic. Once you enroll in school, you are bound for that institution for the upcoming season.

Yes..I think they dropped the NLI a year or two ago. Used to be huge for the school b/c once a recruit signed it, the school had them and nobody else could (unless the school let them out of it, which typically happened when it came up).

Its removal is another small reason recruiting is now the Wild Wild West.

    For the time being:

Deggs better turn this around next year. So far, he's burned two popular Cajun alums in his pitching coach carousel.

After the 3 straight regional appearances and improvement year after year I was a believer in Deggs. This year was tough, but I had faith that Deggs would get it fixed. While I found this year to be unacceptable for many reasons, down years happen and Deggs has more than earned a chance to get it right.

But this is a disgrace. This is VERY telling about what the culture has become inside this program and I believe my suspicions are correct. Deggs is just insufferable to work with. His seat should be red hot. If next year ends up anything like what we saw this year he should be gone.

You may be overlooking the fact that the pitching staff was a disaster this year. And outside of JR Tollett, every returning pitcher got worse from the previous year.

Making a change at pitching coach was discussed in the threads towards the end of the season, and the cold hard facts (stats) were shown. That was a move that probably needed to be made. And it was.

Gunner going to S. Miss is completely out of anyone related to UL’s control.
