No doubt you are correct on BB and SB, but no MBB conference focused will move the needle either. Where is the BIG EAST today VO. They lost their brand as schools moved to football first conferences with larger media deals and bowl tie-in's. The PAC (8) is not the ghost of the PAC 12, it's simply a Western Focus Conference and really nothing more than reshuffling the deck of the Titanic staying below the water line of the P4 Conference Consolidation long term. I'd much rather be consolidated with the AAC when the gavel falls.

I agree we need to be more forward thinking in conference realignment, but any conference begging Texas St to come so they can survive is on life support long term.

Tech going to the WAC was a great move... except for one thing.

The architect of the pitiful SunBelt had become the architect of the WAC.

For that reason alone their great move was destined to fail.

I realize you love the idea living in Colorado of joining the PAC 8. While you talk numbers, it's more likely more than the SBC $2M what is the number? No one has seen any numbers and do new members have to take a lower payout. So, let's jump and pay the $5M exit fee from the SBC based upon a moving target.

Texas St is more than happy to pay $5M to leave the SBC based upon a promise. They have more money and also are supported by student fees. It is what it is as they say. When I see hard numbers, I may pound my fist on the table. But outside of a few programs, I don't feel all tingly in my leg for the PAC 8.

Fishing in same hole. The A2 isn’t done screwing the “all you others”, picking the last of who gets a seat at the big table. UL is stuck due to a toothpick hire, killing the momentum of FB, failure to optimize on momentum HUD started, shelving the Alden Report, and followed Napier with a hire that didn’t make everyone happy. This season is wait and see if last year’s success stays or return to Bustle ball.

We’re getting seat at the kid’s table. I fully expect the SBCE to mostly jump in unison to the AAC when it’s all said and done with the A2.

Then the whole MBB world is next.

As part of this fanbase, like many here, did RCC, RCAF, drawing a line at NIL. Not donating to students with the loyalty of a stray dog. And UL has done a poor job replacing us who are aging out.

If they say we dont have the votes for a student athletic fee, i fail to understand how they got the votes for any of the other fees.... just try, get all the athletes working the polls all day, that alone would be more than 50 pct of the vote, as most school elections have low turnout

We are already a have not…so someone please tell me why not make the jump?

We all know there will be another few shuffles anyway. So who cares?

Set up H&H with App St, Marshall and Tulane. Plus the PAC schedule and we are good to go.

All this talk and guess what??? The PAC has shown no interest in us so not sure why you think this is an option at all.....Yes we can start trying to get our name out but traveling a lot and meeting ppl there is not much respect for our athletic program outside of maybe Acadiana other than the I love your name "Ragin Cajuns".....

I doubt seriously that the PAC-12 knocked on Texas State's door first.

I have no doubt that Texas State banged on the door of the PAC-12.

Texas state’s main reason for leaving is because they can’t beat us.
