Hallelujah, just to get Gonzaga and SDSU to the dome would be worth it. That conference would be amazing for basketball and Football

While I agree totally with your statement, we are not going anywhere until we clean house at Martin Hall. As I have said many a time before, they are quite comfotable and should be as clear as day to all. As stated in the Alden reort, the culture of can't continues to be firmly entrenched in this admiinistration. Savoie has basically paid lip service to it to be able to say we tried but we were unable to implement the main recommendations, changes.

Which would explain the reluctance of Memphis and Tulane jump to the PAC 8.
Not sure, but I do know it will be a lot more than we make here. But look beyond the media contract, we would be getting more national exposure, removing the stigma of the SBC, better competition in football (conference with the best chance at CFP) and a stronger basketball league (multi-bids to NCAA). But the biggest thing is UL having balls and the vision for growth that leads to better student engagement, alumni engagement, development of younger & general fans, and donations.

All of that is worth WAY more than the expected media contract.

We need new leadership and a new direction. I see an Eastern Division of the PAC centered around Texas on the horizon. We need to be in that mix. I guarantee you others in the region are eyeing this and making phone calls right now, having discussions, building bridges, networking. We can't put all of our eggs in the "Best of AAC/SBC" basket.

We must be proactive. We need a reset.

Our state will hold us back, ironically texas state's wont because they probably feel like shipping them out west gets them out of sight and mind and somewhat contains their rise

Reading the boards today, there seems to be a general understanding that the PAC will revisit a ninth full member this winter. I'm sure they will tale another crack at UTSA/UNT/Memphis/Tulane.

There is no reason we shouldn't be in this conversation. We could be. Communication costs nothing.

On the same note, there is no reason we shouldn't be having conversations today with those same AAC West schools about future membership if they lose a school like Tulane or Memphis.

The SBC West is the SLC II. Get out, NOW.

This. The SBCE has been good at clustering most of their side. It’s just a matter of time.

You know, that's a good distinction to make. The only thing that worries me about remaining in the SBC is the eastern division peeling off. Then we're stuck with schools with a history of doing the bare minimum and adding schools who are below the bare minimum.
