Here's how bad of a job Glasco did in the first game loss to Texas.
Two years ago, in the LSU regional against LSU, here's what happened in the winner take all game.
In the seventh inning, with the score tied 8-8, Jordan Campbell came to the plate with Karly Heath on third base. Torina decided to have pitcher, Sydney Berzon, intentionally walk her. Well, Berzon tried, but, threw a pitch too close to the plate. Campbell reached out and hit it, driving in Heath for the winning run and knocking LSU out of their own regional. It was a great day for Ragin Cajun softball.
My point is this. Glasco had seen this before. In the above mentioned instance, it benefited his team. What's mind-boggling is, in the post game press conference, after Texas Tech lost the first game because Reese Atwood was being intentionally walked and hit the two run single, Glasco said this. " I didn't even see the hit. I wasn't watching. I was in the dugout, heard something and asked myself, did she hit that ball?"
If he would have been watching, he would have seen Canady throw a couple of pitches that were almost strikes. He could have called a time out, walked to the circle and had a discussion with her. He did not. And for that matter, neither did his daughter, the pitching coach.
If he would have been paying attention, Texas Tech would probably have won the game and the World Series.
