One bad inning
One bad inning
On defense, yes. With the help of the blown call.
There were a bunch on offense. Left the bases loaded 3 times. 11 runners left on in the game. Team was 0/10 with runners in scoring position. 2/15 with any runners on and 1/10 with 2 outs. And 0/3 with the bases loaded.
That’ll get you beat. Or at least be how you beat yourself.
We are really missing a debarge type player. Yes I know I’m stating the obvious
Yep. When one guy has 45% of the teams HRs, it’s glaring, especially when he’s the only guy on the team hitting .300+.
Amedee was on a nice stretch but went 0-fer the weekend. Stelly is hitting .185 with runners in scoring position this year…and keeps coming up in that situation over and over.
It was good to see Yuhasz get hot. And Markle seems to be getting closer to 100%, as he hit some balls hard this weekend for the first time since coming back from injury.
The pitching has been great since the usage has been paired down to just the top 8 arms. But you can’t keep leaving a ton of guys on base with your veteran hitters at the plate over and over.
As you said, they’re missing that one killer type dude in the lineup. Doesn’t even need to be Debarge good. But someone like Lafluer or Taylor last year, or Julian Brock going back a few. SOMEONE besides Higgs that is .300+ with double digit HRs and a knack for driving in runs.
Louisiana built a 3-0 lead through the first three innings, but Georgia Southern answered with four runs in a two-inning span to rally for a 4-3 win in the finale of a three-game Sun Belt Conference series on Sunday at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
I fully agree on that replay, he was clearly out.
The baseball gods gave us a chance to tie it in the bottom of the ninth. How hard was Markle running with 2 outs and the game on the line? When the left fielder dropped the ball and fumbled it when he first picked it up, I thought the game was tied. Granted, I couldn’t tell where he was on the base path since I was watching on TV.
