Thread: BB Final: Louisiana 2, McNeese 4

  1. Ragin' Cajuns Baseball: Louisiana Falls To McNeese In Midweek Baseball, 4-2

True freshman Brooks Wright recorded his second, three-hit night of the season, going 3-for-5 with an RBI while Maddox Mandino went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, but Louisiana stranded 13 runners on base and dropped a 4-2 midweek contest to McNeese on Wednesday at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

We seem to have a coaching issue and a recruiting issue this year. Not fun to watch.

Normally, I won't try and be negative toward our teams but I must say, I don't know whats going on with these guys. There are NO TIMELY HITTING, Pitching is so irratic, and I am starting to believe the coaching staff are not teachin hitting, fieldling and working to improve our pitching. Are they second guessing. I dont want to hear, "We are young and inexperienced". I expect those coming into the game to be Ready to Play and DO the JOB. Thats what recruiting does.
The one thing I do believe is the NIL is a major factor in recruiting whoas for all Mid-Majors. The one thing I believe we have going for us is OUR STADIUM AND THIS UNIVERSITY AND ITS COLLEGE LIFE.
I only hope this team plays to its fullest like we HAVE BEEN TOLD. I am tired of being told every year, THIS TEAM IS GONNA BE GOOD. Well, right now we could finish last in the SUNBELT.

Curious, anyone know if Galt got hurt last night? I have to ask because why would he be pulled out of the game when he made a GREAT play at SS the previous inning only to get pulled? I cannot thing of another good reason other than an injury. Everything else makes zero sense to me.

If you want to try Cuff at SS, why not do it prior to last night in the middle of the game? Why not move Galt to 3rd? Amadee looks terrible at the plate. His ABs late in the game were bad. Not trying to dog Amadee. We really need his bat to get going. Sometimes a couple games off helps.

Well, we did have great pre season hype videos. Time to live up to the hype.

Focusing in on a small portion of sf21’s excellent post, does anyone else find it particularly odd that the guys on this current coaching staff seem to be infatuated with high velocity, “stuff” pitchers? Gunner wasn’t that guy in college. He just knew how to pitch. He could hit his spot with almost any pitch in his mix in any count. Deggs has always seemed like the type of guy who wants players who can do a job rather than being obsessed talents. Why this philosophy now? A guy like Hermann is a bit to the other extreme (he’s throwing fastballs in the high 70s lately), but when the alternative is guys like Dilhoff who have “stuff” but can’t throw a strike to save their lives, give me a PITCHER any day of the week.

Only two teams in the country have more errors than the Cajuns let that sink in. Walks errors can’t hit other than that we are good
