I thought it was 7-3
I seem to remember "take the points (3) on 4th down so it is 7-6 and the freshmen doesn't start off a bundle of nerves thinking he has to save the day on 4th and two.
Start him off on a fresh set of downs. Easier on the nerves,
I may be misremembering.

I don't think it is incredibly difficult to figure out. Our O-line got bullied all night long. We couldn't establish the run, Chandler was getting pressured and then he went down with an injury, Beale comes in and Marshall could smell blood in the water and they just pinned their ears back and came after Beale. Beale wasn't ready for the speed of the game and his passes reflected that. D-line got pushed around and Marshall's RB and QB gashed us, add in a healthy amount of poor tackling for good measure. We had opportunities to intercept the Marshall QB on a few occasions but couldn't secure the football.
Coach was definitely trying to create a mindset early.
I would have said take the points if either Chris Chandler or Ben Wooldridge was in the game and on a roll.
Ive been consistent all year being down in the first half whether it be 7-3 or 10-3 or 14-3 is no time for panicked play calling.
Too many things can happen in the rest of the game for it to make sense.
jmo... all year.
…..Hey, kinda looked like a good % of the team wasn’t ready…..anybody who has ever played knows that at different times ya game was there or not…..ready for emotional fearlessness, quality mental decisions, playing through injuries, and various other performance judgements…….your sss has to be ready to play and could be the really first important measure of winning games!
We just didn’t look like we were prepared for a game. Energy looked like it was a practice.
