Uhh, maybe because we had to play our true freshman 3rd string QB against a team that would have been a tough out even with our starter, or backup? It was 7-3 with us driving when Chandler was hurt. Chandler stays in, our offense is better, taking pressure off of our defense.

Why so many want to insult these kids effort is beyond me.

What effort? Even the punter didn't put out. Give it a rest & quit being such a suck up dude. It's obvious you don't care any more than anyone else. So quit with the relentless hypocrisy of oh the boys played their little itty bitty hearts out. They ain't boys at this point. And not any of them has to worry about picking their guts up off the field because they left them there on their shields. It didn't happen that way at all.

I can gladly say no. And it was barely watchable on television when compared the effort I saw from SMU who blasted back from a BIG deficit in Clemson's back yard only to lose a real heart breaker. The bottom line is this was a CHAMPIONSHIP game & the attitude necessary to play in it simply was NOT there.
So, my questions are: Does this coaching staff recognize this complete lack of effort? Do they think they can fix the lack of effort for their bowl game?

Gotta look at the defense here. Last I saw these QB's weren't out there playing defense. Gave up 31 at your own house on a big stage begs the question. It is what it is.

With better ball control and overall offensive play the defense would not have been on the field as long. The Cajuns were still exposed.

Yes...our lack of offense and moving the chains didn't help our D. And, I don't think we win with CF if he had not been injured....but with BW, it could have ended differently. BW would have been able to audible out of things and take advantage of their fronts due to his ability to read defenses. A 7 year veteran vs. a true FR at QB is night and day difference. If you recall, even when DB had some protection, he didn't get the ball out quickly which is understandable. With BW, a INT or 2 with those tipped passes, we could have pulled it out.

And this is why I hate answering questions like this, or supporting UL athletics. Unless you're in the ride, or die clique, you have no right to state your opinion, or ask questions about how the team is going to deal with its issues. This one post is going to completely derail this thread & try to make it about "crappy pseudo fans" when this school & its own fan base has been its own worst enemy for decades now.

You don't want any casual fans. You don't want bandwagon jumpers. You don't want anyone without a degree from the fatherland. You don't want outsiders. You don't want dual fans. In fact, you don't want this school, or its fan base to grow at all. Just last week over half the people who commented on this board were either luke warm, or down right hostile about Howard possibly coming here. You are not wrong but if you are looking for sensible reasoning you understand that each person has a point of interest and applying individual questions across the board is not reasonable .

One person is interested in this, one person is interested in that another thinks a fan should be this, way or that way, but it isn't reasonable to think it applies across the board.

Lukewarmness when a random poster declares what a player from another school is about to do is a byproduct of history. History of hopes not panning out. Others not going overboard with every hopeful announcment until it produces fruitage is historically pragmatic and not a sign of being hostile to the idea.

That is reasonableness and it is not unfounded, it comes across as luke warmness, but not without reason. And what appeared to be down right hostility was certainly not demonstrated by over half. It isn't reasonable to combine the two into some sort of group think.

Each person comes to a, situation from their own angle and concerns.

Lets be reasonable.
