0% chance this will ever happen.
This. Why would a G4 school give up a home game? They can certainly schedule all the OOC opponents they need to without giving up a home game and lose money. Not sying it never happens, but it is rare.

With the A4 adding a conference game, there are 64 +/- less opportunities for A4 OOC games. Throw in the growth of made for tv matchups, the opportunities for the G5 are diminishing. Don’t be surprised the payouts start to drop in a few years to what they pay FCS programs today. The greed will leverage the payouts down. FCS schools will slowly get squeezed out the picture.

Always follow the money. It’s coming.

Rare is right, but happens if the negotiator is worth their salt.

Nebraska did a Home-and-Home with Wyoming and Fresno State in the last decade, and thats not even a two-for-one or a three-for-one.

Those would be game changers for the home bound schools.

How much has college football AND its finances changed in the last decade?

Good negotiating is important, but you have to have a negotiating partner.

There are always exceptions, but the vast majority is the vast majority for a reason.

Dr Maggard is best AD we have had in decades. He isn’t perfect, but he is really, really good.

I used Nebraska as my example because they have had over 400 consecutive sellouts.

At over 340 consecutive they negotiated H-n-H games with non traditional football powers.

The change in college finances comes from a TV windfall, not so much from the home games.

Nebraska has always had a packed house and will still go on the road under the right circumstances.

Kicking their away game so far down the road that it's non intrusive is how you finish the deal.

3 home games is how you start it.

Eventually Louisiana's reputation rises to the point where 2-for1 then home and home become the norm.

All these schools do OOC H-n-H games, but only on a regular basis with schools that boost their reputation.

We need to schedule games Vs AAC and MWC/Pac. It’s in our best interest as a conference to play and beat the American teams and the newly formed PAC teams.

Can't argue against that and in fact endorse the sentiment.

Then, when some of those Athletic directors move on to other more lucrative AD jobs Louisiana will have a working relationship in hand.

The chances of southland ADs moving straight to a P4 job are slim.
