History has shown that we need two good QB's to make it through a season for a while now. Great to have both and if Beale does get beat out he can still work towards his senior year to start here, but who know if Howard would even stay here after one year starting. He may transfer out yet again!
Beale is a true freshman. He could play the rest of the season and would still be classified as a RS Freshman next season with 4 years of eligibility.

Info is correct on WH. My understanding is that this will be a good thing for us to build on. All I'm willing to discuss at this point. Welcome home.

    Is he bringing friends?

I'm not anti-Howard, LSU or STM, but what exactly has he accomplished at this point to suggest he is the dude? I watched the Ole Miss Spring game on the SEC network, and he wasn't exactly lighting it up. I understand he signed with LSU and transferred to Ole Miss, but how many snaps in an actual game has he played at 21 years old. I'm not saying he doesn't have ability, but I will wait to see what he actually looks like in the spring.

Actually, the last two QBs were pretty highly rated in their QBR. Not saying they were Heisman caliber, but they were in the top third of Div. 1 QBs.

The kid competed against the best of the best in the 2021 Elite 11 competition and more than held his own. Don't think Jamie paid for this accomplishment.

. . . this is exactly what CMD and everybody else, including Jamie Howard will have to do and the cards will fall as they may .

And while that is impressive and does offer hope, it is not definitive. Does anyone know about the intangibles. How hard a worker? How good a teammate? How good a leader? How good under pressure. How does he respond when making a mistake?

If he can beat out Beale sure. He’s thrown 8 passes in 3 years of college. He’s done absolutely nothing to have a guaranteed spot. He got beat out by a freshman at ole miss for the backup role.

There’s no reason to claim someone will be the starter 10 months from now, especially someone not on the roster, unless you have serious bias towards said player.

Walker Howard becoming a Cajun is a great discussion. Other than that there’s nothing more to claim. If /when he comes he will start if he’s the best for the job.
