Walker Howard to Louisiana

So Beale was a red shirt freshman this year.
Beale will still have 4 years of eligibility.
Howard will have 3 years of eligibility left, if he red shirted his Freshman year at LSU.
History has shown that we need two good QB's to make it through a season for a while now. Great to have both and if Beale does get beat out he can still work towards his senior year to start here, but who know if Howard would even stay here after one year starting. He may transfer out yet again!

This is great news. Now we need to find some OL transfers that can help with all we're losing.

That's what I'm leaning towards. He sat behind Jayden Daniels, Nussmeier, and Jaxson Dart. I feel like the dude just wants to play ball. Just not sure if money plays a small factor.

Nussmeier was already on campus when he signed. Daniels came in the spring. I know there are people that know Walker personally on this board. So, he knew the competition was going to be tough at LSU. I will wait to see what he shows in the springs if he transfers to UL. He doesn't have a ton of reps in SEC games and the 3rd QB doesn't get many snaps in the fall with the first team offense. If he wins the job, I will be all on board.

Yeah, Braden played for four schools in five years. Maryland, Louisiana, Akron, and Tennessee-Martin.

I know one of the big things Des looks for in transfers is if they are a locker room fit attitude wise. If the kid is willing to come here knowing he has to earn the job and that NIL dollars will be minimal to none, I would think he gets the green check for personality fit. Regardless of whether or not he gets the job, this could only be a plus for UL with real competition coming in to push what many believe to be the future of the program in Beale.

It's amazing how so many "big time" local players look for greener pastures in far away lands when, many times, the greenest pasture is already right here under their feet!

I have no problem with the “big time” players trying their hand at the highest level of play in college football. I just don’t want to hear the whining from fans of a certain local school when we don’t offer Southland walk-on caliber guys. UL doesn’t owe every player on your team a scholarship just like your stars don’t owe UL a commitment. Now if UL doesn’t offer an FBS caliber player, it’s a different story.
