How much of this is true and if it actually happens I don't know but this is what I was told. A relative of mine has a business colleague in Mississippi that is close to the Ole Miss program. The business colleague was told by an Ole Miss football staff member that Walker Howard is done at Ole Miss and will be entering the transfer portal and transfer to UL. The business colleague of my relative, who I don't know, stated that the Ole Miss football staff member is a very reliable source. We will see what transpires but I thought that I would share this tidbit of information as I know JMV has already broached this subject previously but I don't think he ever came right out and stated that it was Walker Howard although most came to that conclusion. Time will tell, we could be getting a previously highly recruited QB or my information could turn out to be incorrect. Oh well, let's continue to enjoy this great season.
I have heard the same now from a few different people. Won’t get into specifics as to why he is leaving since it’s purely speculation but I would not be surprised if he ends up back in Lafayette next year. The more competition the better and I think that will only push Beale harder. I think he will be the guy to beat going into 25 whether Walker transfers here or not.
The football program has been contacted. I'm not sure it's a done deal, but we will find out soon enough in December. If he doesn't care about NIL, then he may indeed enroll. But there is no NIL offer on the table to cut a deal. That's the word I received. I have no problem with the competition, he would have three years to play.
Coleman Carter (Adams County Christian HS) is the HS QB commitment.
From what I have been told from a very reliable source. Walker dated Kifins daughter and broke up with her. Walker was clearly the number two QB in spring and fall. The depth chart came out and he was listed as the 3. He then asked the QB coach why he wasn’t 2 as he clearly had the better performance. When he asked his position coach that question he said “don’t ask me I am not the boss, go ask the boss. Proverbial writing meet wall.
I was not told he was a shoe in for here though.
