    PAC is TBD

This is why any discussion about a jump to the PAC is difficult, especially for Eastern teams. Make a move and the PAC has a poor media rights deal and you're stuck with the travel costs of going west and egg on your face.

Easy for a Boise to jump. Travel costs are the same, and the announced PAC teams are at least half a step up from the MWC. But, considerably more expense and travel time away from school for athletes for a school in the central time zone.

UL's current media share is right at $2.5M. There is no $7M or more on the table from ESPN to the PAC 12. That is strictly rumor and projection. This is why a number programs including Tulane walked away from any discussion because they have nothing to offer on contract.

. . . all this talk over here is just like the talk that we could have kept Napier here for $2,000,000 or that $2,000,000 was available to hire anyone else when we hired Dez . . . that was all fiery dust and reindeer farts . . .

That is the point I was attempting to make. If the PAC wants to get schools in the Central Time Zone on board there needs to be a media deal in place with specific payouts.

    Thank you.

Basically, most of these realignment conferences are basically Frankenstein reincarnated.

I agree, but I don't care what platform eventually gets the contract. If it comes in at around 7M, and they would offer us, we need to accept that invite.

That’s part of it, but the main reason Tulane and Memphis walked because they’d owe a $25 million exit fee and the PAC wasn’t willing to chip in enough to help pay for it.

Except the contract won’t be finalized until the teams are locked in. Boise could do it cause their expenses won’t be increased and the contract will be at least as much as the MW.

    Louisiana doesn’t have that luxury.
