It truly is a sad state of affairs.

We all should expect better results with a 800K/year basketball coach in the SBC mid major conference. The problem is the "we should all" people are gone. that ship sailed years ago when mediocre basketball was accepted here at UL.
Damn he makes 800k a year now?

I agree that donors need to be on friendly terms with coaches, not close friends.
This latest stroll down mediocrity lane matters because we just gave him an extension and a raise. At an extremely crucial junction in collegiate athletics. Our supposed to be #2 revenue producing sport is instead a retirement home for the Rebounders Club.

There should be outrage about this, but they've run the fans off so effectively, no one is here to GAF.

Thats the problem it won’t. I don’t see him ever having a losing season or loosing control like HUD did but his mediocracy is creating apathy and killing our once proud fan base and we give him an extension????

It really doesn’t matter because we’re stupid enough to create never ending contract renewals. All he’s gotta do is win the tournament or regular season championship once every 4 years. That’s not on rebounders club, it’s on Mallard. Has nothing to do with friendship, but lack of a strong commitment to excellence.

Made the NCAA tournament last year and sold less than half the season tickets the following season. Speaks volumes. If you remove the businesses that buy season tickets, we've somewhere in the neighborhood of 500-600 actual season tickets sold.

That's an embarrassing reality for a program with history like ours.

I am not a basketball guy but the lack of size inside is going to hurt the team. Living and dying with 3 pointers will never work.
