Do us all a favor and tell your guys that they need to come out with everything at the Bash. I understand that some things are ready to be announced and some things might still need some details. But, it would be nice if they would unveil the stuff that is ready, and also come out and say, by the way, we don't have pictures or plans set in stone, but we're also looking into X and Y and maybe Z, and those projects are currently in design and planning stage. At least it would be a more up front approach and not make it sound like they're trying to be secretive. And not to mention, it would help show the magnitude of what they are trying to do.
It may only be just me who thinks this, but if I'm trying to get a private funding organization off the ground, especially in this economic climate, I'm going to give everyone as much information as possible and hype it up as much as possible, and not just release some info and say that the rest is coming later. The reason being is that many people are going to give once a year, whether that be in a lump sum or by setting up a monthly donation. So, if you only tell them about everything right now and create as much hype about it as possible, then that donation is more likely to be larger than if you only tell them a little bit. And, if you have other stuff planned, and wait six months to announce it, when most have already made their annual donations, then you miss out on the effect that those projects could have on the foundation.
Not to mention, being open and transparent with the public is not something you could charge UL with. So, throwing all the cards down at once will help to create the perception that something has changed and things are going to be different around here. Again, I think many people would rather know that they're planning to build a new baseball stadium (just an example) but that it's only in design stages, rather than to have to read about rumors and beg for information.
