Look at the last depth chart posted. Very few spots lack experience, especially on the defense.
I have and I stand by my statement.

Des has got to go get some studs on both lines by any means. If not I think we go 6-6 7-5 next year.
Go back and look at video of Iowa State game. We had better coaches. We had better athletes. We were deep. Now? Not so much. We can build a new stadium, but if we stick a Bustle-ish team in there like we did the last two years the results will not change.

    1) on road @ UAB....Zeon's 1st show was awesomeness
    2) South AL
    3) Texas State (rare 1 score win post Napier)
Ark St will win the west next year. You heard it here first.

Against Iowa St we used some of the same players differently back then.

I am no Ragin Dave when it comes to analysis, but these are my grades:

Coaching: C Slightly better disciplined from a year ago and at least won a close game. Situational substitution on defense as atrocious. Changes need to be made.

QB: B- All three QB's had their moments and good stretches of play, but none were consistently able to push the ball down the field except for CF in the last game. The running of Chriss gave us an exciting dimension, if he continues to improve as a passer we could have our own version of Jaden Daniels.
RB: B Our RB by committee approach looked great some games and average in others. Kibodi had a nice SR season and Davis looks like a future star. Fumbles were a season long problem.
WR: B Lots of depth here but no clear difference maker. Fewer dropped passes than in previous years was a plus. Broussard and/or Williams could be the next big player for us. The future is bright at this position.
TE: B- Would be a lot lower if not for the CF games at the end of the season. Happy to see Neal J finish strong. Carter looks like a more than serviceable replacement.
OL: C+ Were an F last year so this was a big improvement. The OT's are still a work in progress on pass protection and blocking in space, but the interior 3 did a good job this year. Hopefully Gillie doesn't get poached and this unit can stay together. Could be a strength next year.

DL: C+ We rotate a lot of guys, but I never saw a consistent push or the ability to shed defenders. Didn't play bad but was never a dominant unit.
LB: A- The strength of the team. Gant and Ossai were very good. Hopefully both stay. Whitfield has the talent to be a disruptive edge player.
CB/S: B- Don't know if it is scheme or talent, but this unit gave up lot of chunk plays and allowed too many 3rd and long conversions.
    K: A+ What a fantastic year for #43.
Special team were mediocre except for the kicker.

We need another tayland Humphrey type NT. 320lb+. We had to commit too many to the rush up the middle and still got beat there a lot.

We need to quit subbing in defensive players when the offense doesn’t sub.

Fix those 2 issues and we probably win 9 games minimum next year.

Our lowest point total in a win was 33. That’s crazy. I’d be curious the last time that happened. If ever

I have to disagree with the coaching. I was hoping Mike would learn from his mistakes in year one and make adjustments in year 2. Saw much of the same year over year. Very disappointing.

Agree with most positions. I think the thing that is the biggest problem at WR is they play to many and no one gets in a rhythm. Playing 9 or 10 WRs isn’t necessarily a good thing. Take your 2 deep at each position and let them get lathered up. They rotate so many they are cold by the time their rotation comes back around. The WR position has been the most mismanaged on this team over the last few years. IMO. Guys not being used where their strengths are.

If CMD were to do himself a favor he’d go out and get a couple coordinators on both sides of the ball who have coordinated before and have called plays on their side of the ball.
