That's okay, I didn't want to see the Braves in it either.

    Arizona with no hesitation!

*Coach Brent Strom of the Diamondback is a good guy.

*If you don't watch the World Series are you really a true baseball fan?

*The Astros and Rangers haven't yet became a true rivalry.

*Who will take Baker's place? Brad Ausmus, Jeff Banister or Joe Espada.
Joe Espada is the leading candidate, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was Brad Asmus.

As a lifelong Astros fan I am pulling for Arizona. Yes, I am that petty. I do think the Rangers will probably win as they are the better team and outplayed the Astros in ALCS.

    #BeatDbacks
I would have pulled for the Mall Cops had they played Philadelphia, but since they are playing Arizona, no way will I pull for them.

All good. I'm certain you knew the Astros existed before 2017. That's not the case for the majority of people in the Lafayette "where can I be seen" community....

That's interesting, I'm not sure how old you are but I remember plenty of Astro's fans in this area during the years of Biggio, Bagwell, Alou, Everett, Reynolds, Clemens, Johnson and Andy Pettitte.

I flew to Atlanta on six occasions during the Maddox, Glavine, Chipper Jones, Andrew Jones, Smoltz and Avery era; never saw more Brave jerseys than Astros.

But is interesting that you mention the Astros prior to 2017. I can remember a time when no one ever wore a Brave jersey in Lafayette while Atlanta had such vaunted players like Biff Pocoroba, Glenn Hubbard, Roland Office and Phil Neikro.

I remember the days of Larry Dierker and Don Wilson as pitchers. Jimmy Wynn, Doug Radar, Cesar Cedeno as top hitters are also guys I recall playing for the Astros. Those are from the 60's and 70's, When Astroworld was open, many many people from Acadiana would bring families to Houston for a long weekend. Go to the amusement park and catch a game or two was a common mini vacation. Games used to be broadcast on 1420 AM here with Gene Elston, Lowell Passe, and Harry Kalas (went on to brodcast Phillies games) as broadcasters. Kalas's son is now a TV broadcaster for the Astros. Sunday's saw road games televised on Channel 15 in the 70's. Point of this is the Astros have a long tradition of support in Acadiana which goes back well over 50 years.

Yes, my early years as a fan were in the 70s. Bob Watson and Cesar Cedeno were my favorites, then later it was Jose Cruz.
