Why do UL fans care so much about what other people think about them? They don't want to be seen as LSU's little brother or as some small irrelevant school, so in response, they constantly compare themselves to larger or more successful programs...which is EXACTLY what little brothers do.

Much (though not all) of UL's reputation is self-inflicted. Quit worrying about impressing other people, and start trying to impress your own people. The rest will fall into place.

TCU went to national championship in football, world series in baseball, and lost by 3 in 2nd round of March madness.. Thats major league sports

Their fans are going into the upcoming season thinking they will vie for a national championship in more than one sport

Are you implying that because Auburn, Miss St, Arkansas are having down years this year, that their games vs LSU are somehow less important to casual fans?

. . . I’m just trying to determine what is “major college football” . . . I don’t really care for your reasoning behind why you or anyone else would classify one game or another as major college football, just whether it is or not . . . some here have said that Louisiana does not play major college football so I am trying to figure out where it is played . . . the schedule gives a pretty good sample size so just do it . . . I guess you and everyone else on that bandwagon are scared . . .

The whole point of the argument is that the admin cannot rely solely on the fact that UL plays D1 football at Cajun Field to drive attendance or fan enthusiasm.

They have to focus more attention on the Saturday experience to draw people off the couch.
