The current coach at Ole Miss (Chris Beard) was at Texas previously. Prior to that he was at Texas Tech. He was also at Little Rock the year they won the league. I am not sure if anyone from Liberty has moved on to a better role in recent years.
After finishing in 8th place with Jordan Brown on the roster, we decided to retain Bob and have the AD go on live radio to push some false narrative of a “75% winning percentage” on the fanbase. Any talk of buyout numbers is a moot point. If we didn’t fire our coach who we pride on hitting 20 wins after he failed to do so for 4 straight years, that will never happen. Settle in for 4 more years of Bobby Ball and hope he can produce, or tune out (which most Cajun fans have done).
T, I agree that it’s a fraternity with coaches. The only thing I have witnessed in the many decades of college basketball is nothing is sacred to any of them including Mr. Clean Coach K. He just hasn’t been caught like almost everyone of his fellow HOF coaches. So fraternity be damned, if they had let Bob go for anything short of cause they wouldn’t have been waiting long for dozens of quality applicants. And if we had big bucks even more would apply.
With regards to integrity we know the only reason Lil Willie got fired was the evidence finally got released along with the other sins at LSU. Auburn kept Pearl in spite of everything. They’re also giving what’s his name from Ole Miss via Liberty another chance.
Then there’s conference realignment. Zero integrity for tradition or fans. It’s a race for the Benjamins. Not saying they should have fired him but they are happy with Bob plain and simple, as are certain money hanger ons who love chumming with Bob.
That’s my view right or wrong. It’s all opinion regardless of what side is chosen. Just seems Benjamin always wins.
You are crazy if you dont think alot of folks would line up to apply at Louisiana.
. . . the operative part of Zep’s post is purely opinion . . . he does provide some facts which are presented in a slanted fashion as support of his opinion . . .
USL's recent decision to turn independent also was a factor in taking the South Florida job, according to Paschal. He praised the Sun Belt Conference and said the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament helped shape his decision.
I don’t see the point of continuing to debate this as decision hAs been made. Their was no choice from previous contract. Not having some type of extension would have killed recruiting. Time to focus on preparing for the upcoming season. I am confident Guys on the team will have great focus in doing so.
He got his extension for last season. The other 3 years are what has people scratching their heads.
