Brad can at least get his foot in the door. Or how about hire Brad to replace Gary.

I'm thinking what we saw last year was the beginning of more of this. The new transfer rules with Savy analytical recruiting will drive it.

I have no problem with this extension as long as the assistants are retained.

I like the fact that we will be revisiting this contract at a time where we will have completed the stadium project.

There is a time and a place for everything. Now may not be the time to rock the boat.
I’m sure we will discuss this more at tailgating, but my guess is that this is pretty close to the admin’s thinking on Marlin decisions. Our paid attendance average for basketball is 2,708. Butts in seats don’t match this, but that is true for all sports. That 2,708 number is very respectable nationally. It’s above average in our conference and in the vast majority of non-P5 conferences. Football on the other hand is below average in our league and abysmal on a national scale. I see this as an ultra-conservative approach.

And a well funded NIL program. You can have the smartest most charismatic coach in the world, he still needs the money machine.

Same applies to UL. We could have Bob, Boyd, or freaking Santa Clause in the job. Got to have a solid NIL, or it will always be what it is. Every coach will have distractors...even Santa.

Time to put this thread to bed. We are stuck with Big Fish for the foreseeable future unfortunately.

Note the caveat of retaining assistants. Apparently, there has been a resignation and a reassignment that will hurt the program. So, this deal, to me, is a loser. The program would be much better off hiring a hungry, young coach for a lot less.

...and who said you were invited to the Tailgate? KIDDING !!!!!, but seriously, bring a donut or a link of boudin at least as tribute. I will also accept an alcoholic beverage.

I’m planning on bringing a pack of wine coolers and 1 pound of cauliflower boudin as per Cajuns4Me’s request.
