Those fans are welcome to park in said parking spots for a very modest donation. Spots inside of Cajun field gates should NEVER be FREE. If they don’t want to give the donation then I have great news for them. They have the best free parking situation in all of FBS directly across the street.

I do agree with the fact that there has to be more offered to the casual fan on a first come first serve basis. If we are to grow the fan base like most of us want, it’s time to start thinking out side the box and create new areas with a party atmosphere, that people will want to attend. There isn’t enough space in the gates to create that and grow the fan base as we would like. And I am also a firm believer that every thing inside the gates tailgating and parking wise should have a price on it. Maybe they could do a better job of selling single game spots in the unsold TG area, for those that want to just go to a game or 2.

I’ve mentioned before but will again for context. 3 of our boys are fairly recent Texas State graduates. When my wife and I go to a game we park quite a distance from the stadium for free. MUCH further than the distance across Congress. Daily rate parking is $20 close to the softball and basketball facilities, distance very comparable to parking across Congress. Fans have it very good for UL Football compared to most equivalent programs.

    Agree.

    Thanks for the comparison.

Good points. We have parked across Congress, but they need to cut the grass.

You would be correct I have been to Troy and So.Miss 3 times each and we have it much better for parking than both. What I did like about So. Miss is we found a spot on campus and threw up a pop up tent on a first come first serve basis.

UL has the closest free parking you will find anywhere in the FBS.
For many people, its not about the money. Its about principle. I used to donate a whole lot more to the RCAF. When they start taking away benefits like parking passes and now give me a "earn the right" message, they lost way more than the $60 worth of parking passes.

I now do the minimum just like the administration and RCAF executives.

I agree that our parking situation is way better than most stadiums. Its simple economics. As long as I walk by empty parking spots inside Cajun Field, I will continue to walk a little further for free.

Each time I’ve come in for games I stay at the Hilton across Congress and walk across. Not terrible at all.

Also how many schools give students free admission just with ID.... (and even if it were free, the availability wouldn't be there for any student who wants)
P.s. how will electronic only affect the student ID entrance process?

Just curious if they did open cajun field to non RCAF parking for a pay to park each game. What would be a rate you would be ok with? 15, 20, 25…?
