What are you talking about, the trip to Puerto Rico was a "road" trip.

If the road trip to Puerto Rico was going to pay dividends it would be on the "road" not at home.

It took TWO in-State road victories just to get this team to .500 on the "road."

It has been said many times by the so called experts that the hardest thing to do in college sports is win on the road in basketball. 7-7 on the road is even. 14-0 at home. 5-0 on neutral sites. That’s 26-7. What exactly are we questioning here? Definitely one of the best season performances in the Cajun Dome era of Cajuns basketball.

... Bob has said as much those days are a great bonding experience for his team. Jay said last night in the post game of all the years he has done UL basketball he has never saw a team more together and that cared for their teamates more than this one…… Fast forward to a tourney championship and trip to the dance. I say mission accomplished and money well spent.

I'm not buying the trip for one second.

He finds the money every four years when he knows he has a 20 win team, but can't find a dime to bring a quality team into the dome every four years.

This team got better and better as the season progressed and I think Marlin did a great job of coaching. But I don't think Puerto Rico had anything to do with winning the Sunbelt tournament.

All these people diminishing Marlin's accomplishments just because he has low self esteem baffles me.

He did a fantastic job coaching these players up and shouldn't be giving credit to a road trip 6 months ago for 3 days in March.

I doubt the claim is that the road trip deserves ALL credit for this year's success. But even if the trip only contributed 1%, Cajunmike's claim that it contributed is still valid and true.
