Then don't bring up the home record at all, because it only points out what should have happened many times before.

The fact that it has only happened once is the shocker.

Other than that you are letting other peoples traditions hamper your judgment.

I think there are several things Des could have left as status quo from the Napier era that would have been beneficial to his team, but he thought it be better to change and make things more easy on his young men.

That's 7-7 counting 2 in-state wins that should never be in need of Puerto Rico assistance.

I will concede the Puerto trip may have helped at neutral locations.
But its ok to bring up the road record when it fits your agenda? But not the home record when it backfires on your point? Got it.

What are you talking about, the trip to Puerto Rico was a "road" trip.

If the road trip to Puerto Rico was going to pay dividends it would be on the "road" not at home.

It took TWO in-State road victories just to get this team to .500 on the "road."

A road trip abroad would definitely sped up chemistry, especially with transfers coming in.

It’s all subjective Turbine. I’m fine with Mike buying into the chemistry hype because we absolutely don’t know the truth. I will say that almost universally coaches love practice, and they love being alone with their teams. That’s just the overwhelming comments we hear and see in everything.

Logic says you are correct but I don't see it.

10-4 against the easiest part of the schedule comlared to 16-3 vs the hardest, shows me a team that came together as the season progressed.

I'm not the biggest basketball fan in the world, but there are three things that this team did this year that I didn't see as much in the past

1 they shot free throws and made those points, it drives me nuts to see teams that aren't good free throw shooters since to me that shows a team that doesn't pay attention to the small details

2 they rebounded and had multiples around the board which enabled them to have rebound points

and 3 they were very good from the 3 point range which would open up the inside game when needed.

No. If the road trip to PR was going to pay dividends it would be in team chemistry and the cohesiveness of the team. Bob has said as much those days are a great bonding experience for his team. Jay said last night in the post game of all the years he has done UL basketball he has never saw a team more together and that cared for their teamates more than this one…… Fast forward to a tourney championship and trip to the dance. I say mission accomplished and money well spent.
