    That is the correct explanation the way I understand it. It is one of the tools used by the committee to award at large bids and to seed teams. Of course it favors the major conferences as even less talented teams in those leagues get the opportunity to play highly ranked teams at home. With more and more large schools refusing to play ANY true road non conference games, no wonder well over 20 of the conferences are one bid leagues.

    A LOT of netural (51-100) games coming up. The deck gets further stacked.


    If anyone has any doubt about the P5 avoidance of G5 home courts, go watch the South Alabama/UL MBB from this past Friday night. First half, sometimes after the 10 minute mark. A long discussion of exactly this topic between the game announcers and the mothership studio.
