Its not a ground rule issue. Its a rule issue. If a ball hits the yellow line and remains in fair play it is not a homerun

The ball hit the top of the yellow line and then hit the metal that sits below the Service Chevrolet ad (it has ragincajuns.com on it.) The ball then came back onto the field.

That's a home run. Still mystified that the umps couldn't figure that out.

And, referring to something previously said....Ryan Broussard was on the crew that did the USM series, but he was NOT the subject of Deggs' ire. I think Ryan is a good umpire. Albarado wasn't part of the ire, either. I think the person who said he had it in for Robe is not accurate.

Myran and Hayes did. Myran won't be back at Russo. Hayes has moved to St. Louis with his wife (who is Ted Davidson's daughter.) And James Ainsworth won't be invited back either.

I turned on my 96.5 app as soon as they went to replay according to Jay and Brad they blew the call. Looking at Deggs communication with the umpire would insinuate he was saying that should have been a HR. And reading on here it sounds like Brennan Breaux who played many games fall and spring here said that should have been a HR. I think all those folks are pretty familiar with the ground rules of the park.

Watched replay and listened. Brennan and McDonald both said it should be a double. Brennan said it was a good call

It’s my assumption that yellow line is padded like the wall itself. That ball did not cause any dent or indentation into the yellow line and bounced off like it hit something solid. In my opinion, it was a HR.

You can tell by the ricochet that the ball did not hit the padding. IMO, clearly a home run.

Just curious if the yellow signifies nothing why have it atop your wall? Just make it solid. Many parks have a yellow strip that signifies a home run. Granted it’s usually on a higher wall.
