If Marlin does not make the NCAA tourney but makes it to the "NIT" does he keep his job?
NIT brings national exposure. Limited, but still 10x more than we get in our own state, let alone our own market.
NIT brings a payout. Again, not nearly what NCAA tourney participants get, but it's something and we are desperate at this point for moolah. (Anyone know what the payout is?)
Having said that, to the lay fan, hell no it doesn't matter. We can't get people to our own building 90% of the home games, even with a winning team. I'm not going to totally poo-poo the NIT possibility but if the NIT is all that this fanbase can expect after 13 years and two obviously superior rosters in the last 5 years, then yea.. that's a problem.
Count me in as NCAA or bust. Because at this point, with this coach, with this roster, in year 13, considering our financial situation and lack of fan interest... That's all that many Cajuns fans will care about.
