It's rare but teams with similar records have made it to the tournament (App State 2021 and WKU in 2012).

With that said, building more consistency during the regular season along with tournament appearances is what grows the program. Getting hot one weekend doesn't. See: Last season.

That just isn't happening with the new 14 team Sunbelt . . . the days of luck getting you there in the Sunbelt have been tremendously diminished with the existing competition level . . .

I'm all for it. Your conference doesn't get better with musical chairs. It gets better with consistency of competition among good programs.

Only thing to trust is my final analysis. You win the final game of the SBC tourney you're in. Your regular season record does not matter at that point.

If we were fortunate enough to have southern miss drop another one, who has the tie breaker, if we have same conference record and split the home and home?

We have the tiebreaker if I am reading everything correctly. That is assuming Marshall wins out as well.

I think we had a gameplan, which was to go to JB and we executed it, ultimately at the expense of getting everyone else involved. When JB got that good start early in the game, coach just started feeding everything through him and the ball slowed down a lot. At times, when we did run nice motion sets, we got good inside looks but we never took advantage of the double and triple teams on JB with kick out passes to shooters. In the second half this worked in their favor. They could let JB get the ball and dribble around the lane with it and just cover our shooters
