Don't kid yourself, Covid aside, Louisiana has always shown an attendance bump after a successful football season.

These incoming freshmen couldn't care less about football, but they are not immune to the advertising effects of hearing the school mentioned over and over (in a good light) their senior year of high school.

Raise the admission standards is what I’m saying.

Q: Have the admission standards been lowered since Louisiana enrolled 82 valedictorians in one semester?

No, but they’re still relatively lower compared to other schools we aspire to be like. Other R1’s have higher admission standards.

As far as I know, we still have the highest admission standards of any public university in the state. It’s been that way for about 10 years

ACT should be at least 25
3.2 high school GPA at least.

Even some of the graduate admissions are very low.

Example: MBA program only requires 2.5 GPA for the GMAT to be waived. So if you’re a ‘C’ student, we’ll waive your GMAT and let you in. This should not be a ‘C’ student University.

No. And haven’t been for about 10 years. They lowered theirs to increase enrollment. We raised ours to get to R1. Academically we are going in different directions.
