I'll be the first to admit that I stay home and watch football because I can. If they weren't streamed, I'd find a way to go by myself or just with my wife. I will not attempt to bring my kids until the game management is improved. On the other hand, we go to the majority of baseball games.
People try to pin that on the fact that it's on TV. That's not true. The game management causes a willing customer to choose an alternative option.
The Nielsen article fanof71 referenced must be old because it defines a millennial as being between the age of 18 and 34. Currently the age of millennials is 26 to 41 years of age. So the article is at least 8 years old. Things have changed since the article was written.

But you said you never have heard anyone say that. Hell, I hear it from 10-15 different people each week.
"We thought about going to the game, but just decided to watch it on TV." I hear it a LOT.
I am not saying that's the reason attendance is down. But you're very naive if you think it's not a contributing factor.
