I just don't get how some people would prefer Ryan McCoy over Randell Daigle. Nobody in the general public has seen this kid play. Randell is a proven starter and was key in winning a lot of games for us last season. My god, what have you done for me lately sure doesn't go with UL. He was rated higher than Randell in Highschool, but rankings are not accurate.

Randell to me can and will be the opening day starter. Ryan is banged up right now so Radar is getting more looks. As of right now Jeremy Barr is the only starter, because nobody in practice can guard this big SOB.

Lee needs to hurry up and choose a lineup for the team and start establishing roles for players. This team does not have the chemistry that 9 returning lettermen would have. These new players are throwing a bone in the lineup and they need time to establish who is gonna play and who is gonna be a role player and who will be passing out cups of fresh H2O behind the bench. _

First of all, the starting lineup will likely change quite a bit at least in the first 2 months or so to find a chemistry and efficient lineup so I wouldn't expect anything in concrete quickly.

Second, take it easy there bud. We are only looking at McCoy assuming he is as good as he's supposed to be. Daigle is playing a little out of position at the #1 as he is a pure shooting guard. While he played fine last year, he turned the ball over a lot and his assist/turnover ratio was not great by any means. He is short and had trouble with the bigger guards on offense and D because he couldn't see over them and had to do a lot of dribbling with his back to his man. We are excluding injury at this time but I would like a guy who is a floor general out there and wants to get the ball to his immediate scorers like Daigle, Gradnigo, Bureau etc.., not turn it over and play D on the point. I have no problems with Daigle its just I think he's much more comfortable at the 2. Lee shuffled Barksdale and Lago last year because he was trying to get Daigle in at the shooting guard but they sucked big time. We need McCoy for any other reason than as quality backup

My starting 5 would look like this when the other two become eligible

Starting line up 2nd Line up

    SG C.Gradnigo T.Bureau
    SF L.Roberson L.Gary
    PF E.Adeife T.Johnson
    C J.Barr C.Batiste

our players with NBA players type skills

    R.McCoy(Chauncey Billupsl)

    C.Gradnigo(Kobe Bryant)

    L.Roberson(Paul Pierce)

    E.Adeife(Emeka Okafor)

    J.Barr(Eddie Curry)

    T.Bureau(Vice Carter)

    R.Daigle(Derek Fisher)

    L.Gary(Larry Hughes)

    T.Johnson(Eddie Jones)

    C.Batiste(Tim Thomas)

Puff Daddy has ties with Daigle, thats why he is getting alittle upset with this talk. Puff was his Assistant Caoch at Northside

Daigle is an outstanding player, but maybe point is not his strongest position. Regardless, he will see a lot of P/T because he is too good to leave on the bench. Hope Puff Daddy understands this isn't a slight on RD, just an assessment (opinion) about this year's team. It's all just speculation in the pre-season since we (most of us, at least) haven't had a chance to see the team in action yet.

That's cool. I imagine you know this better than all of us then. Daigle and of all people Gary became my favorite players last year because of their early play and hustle. You cannot deny that Daigle is better suited, at this level, to be a #2.

I also don't know if we'll see Gradnigo at the #2 spot as he is more of a 3. I think we'd see him start at the 3 unless Lee wants to move him but it is a crapshoot right now to even guess what our lineup or rotation will be at this point.

In the first place we're in the Sun Belt not the Southland. Nevertheless, a good question anyway.

    Technically, this a retarded thread...
The choice is up to the coaching staff, as it is their job on the line and they are the only people present at practice each day...don't you all agree?

Really. I thought I was the coach. That was a retard statement. We all know it's up to the Coaching staff to put the players out on the court. It's just something to write about. Sh.. I'm at work and its boring. Gotta have something interesting going on before the season starts Retard!

For the people involved day to day with the basketball program.....How much difference is it making now that the team has their own court in the indoor facility????
