So your saying it all comes down to this bowl game for him to get drafted? Why even have a combine the nfl scouts should just base everything off bowl games.

I've got news for you cuz. You can throw a grenade & blow up every single player in the combine with how close they are in 40 times, shuttle runs, bench presses, verticle jumps save the studs like like Miles Garrett. All they want to know in that meat market is if a guy is healthy, or not. They look at film & the film don't lie. The reason they look at more film now is because they only have 7 picks & the rest of the team is free agents. And the NFL doesn't practice nay more. They have a grand total of 16, or 17 padded practices & if you're lucky you might twenty plays in an NFL preseason to prove yourself.

You better damn well believe for an interior lineman you need every second of film you can get. And hell yes, this game could mean the difference between someone pulling the trigger on him, or not. And you can bet there are NFL scouts wanting to see what Humphrey can do against Mollette this Saturday night over the course of a full game. And him not being there could very well cost him at the next level. If you don't understand that, then you know nothing about how NFL coaches & scouts rate players.

There are literally less than 3 NT with his size and one is Jordan Davis who is a top 10 pick.

Wrong Chief, the Pac 12, the Big 10, the ACC & SEC & Big 12 all have teams with a couple of guys his size. The G-5 prolly has 20 guys his size. You just don't realize how common his measurables are until you stack them up against everyone else. And a guy like Humphrey has very few chances to play against an all conference player from another team for a whole game to prove himself. Its the quality of the player against the quality of their opponent. It's the reason they have all star games & all star weeks. If the guy was 1st, or 2nrd pick then he's doing himself no favors by playing in that game. But he's not. And anyone giving him advice not to take this opportunity is giving him terrible advice. I'm telling I know.

Maybe it's because Max Mitchell is a stud who could go anywhere from the end of the 1st to the top of the 3rd round & is a guaranteed top pick in this draft? It does him zero good & in fact could cost him a couple of million dollars if somehow he gets hurt in this game. I understand his situation.

But Humphrey is completely different. He didn't make the top three All SBC teams. Now is that a travesty? IMO it is complete & utter BS. But I don't work the Indianapolis Colts front office who has to sell tickets to fans who want a freaking pedigree. And when you are drafting, you are picking pedigrees plain & simple. Taylon Humphrey doesn't have a pedigree, so he better have some film.
