Not exactly an offensive performance to write home about and we still win by 21 on the road. Good defense and rebounding by the Cajuns. I think the more games we get under our belt the better offensively we will become.

Cajuns played very poorly on offense most of the night in my view. Encouraging in that a road blowout against a CUSA team still happens despite that. Too many missed shots near goal, granted probably more fouls occurred than were called. Still, too many turnovers and missed free throws to be successful against a quality opponent. Having said all that the Cajuns defense was OUTSTANDING. Rebounding was a positive as well. Virtually all the loose balls wound up in Cajun hands. Those things will travel and lead to lots of victories.

It's easy to fall prey to the idea that teams that finished 310th or 280th or 172nd in a predictive metric will be within 10-20 spots of that year over year, but it's important to shake up expectations.
