However since you want to focus on regional appearances.

Louisiana has won 4 regionals or 44% of every regional they have been in.

Coastal has won 3 regionals, or 19% of every regional they have been in.

What accounts for UL's comparative regional success? Perhaps they were more tested in the regular season? I don't know.

Overall it demonstrates the power of 1 national championship.

They don’t play the sane set of teams in their regionals. Matchups are everything. And you are knocking their success by saying the only reason they are ahead of us is that one year. Without UL's CWS appearance they would not be ranked where they are.

Without Coastal's NC they would not be ranked where they are.

None of these top teams are being ranked just for making regionals.
