Hosting is great for the city and fans. Gonna have to beat the best regardless, would rather host. Arizona is a powerhouse as well. No easy Super matchups. You always want to host. No guarantees Oklahoma isn't knocked off either.

I would prefer what is best for the program (not the city & fans), and that is going to WCWS. Yes, we eventually would have to play the best (Oklahoma), but I'd rather play them in the WCWS championship than in a Super Regional.

Just getting to OKC helps the program recruit better, schedule better opponents, sell more tickets, grow the fan base, expand our brand, etc. All of those things lead to a nationally respected elite softball team, which is better (long-term) for the city and the fans.

The above statement is my personal opinion. I understand that some people feel it is always best to host (even if you are the 16th seed).

You know what’s even better for the fans. Hosting regionals and going to OKC. I don’t care about potential matchups, always want to host. If we are worried about having to play a higher seed then we are not ready to win it all. There’s no easy road to OKC.

With that said we probably didn’t deserve to host with our schedule anyway. Just stating my preference. The team that really got hosed is James Madison.

The best case scenario is the path of least resistance. If traveling to get a more favorable matchup is necessary, we should be ecstatic about it. (Which is exactly what happened this year).

People that don't get this are selfish. It's about the program winning, not about your fun weekend to drink and roosta dance.

... and 4 wins vs. the RPI Top 25 is like Jennifer Anniston putting the minimal amount of flair on her Chotchkie's uniform (yes I am really reaching in an attempt to explain this). Winning only four or five RPI Top 25 games is likely to drop you a few spots from your RPI ranking. This might be neutralized if they were RPI Top 10 wins (which the committee also holds in high regard).

Don't worry Turbine. We all know that 17 is less than 18. We all know that the only point you were trying to make is that when you isolate our Regional, we would have preferred to host as opposed to not host. It did not happen for all of the other reasons that have been posted. That does not mean it is right. It seems like with 16 spots, a team that does as well as the Cajuns should get the nod, if for no other reason than that they are really not in a position to regularly compete for scheduling. Like Coach Glasco said yesterday, scheduling is sometimes like playing the stock market. The stocks we bought this year that were supposed to help but failed us. We will always be in a crap shoot for hosting and seeding. It is the way they designed the system.

The word (c)ult and (e)(n)ema and the letters (f)(U) next to each other are not profane, in any stretch of the imagination.

No one reads the fine print in these agreements, either.

Btw, if you haven't noticed, I started using profanity in large volume when you decided to censor me and others. To troll you, essentially. Had you left well enough alone, you'd probably be surprised how far a "hey man, getting a little sideways with the language" in a DM would go.

This is a fan board, where people get "colorful". It's part of the experience. I understand you can't let everything through, but my god. It's gotten to be ridiculous.
