A healthy Gunner would have been one of the weekend starters.

Todd Lott would have been hard to keep out of the lineup. May not have been an everyday guy, but would have platooned.
The ONLY positions Cantrelle could have played that year are 3rd (move Shug to 1st), 1st, or take Butler's spot in the outfield and adjust the outfield to factor in for his speed. He would not have played 2nd or short over Conrad and Trahan.

Maybe because 311 is a lot more than 287.

I'm assuming you are speaking of Cantrelle. Bourgeois had 9 more hits in 13 more plate appearances. That being said, I think Cantrelle would have had an extremely hard time cracking that lineup.

That's only because Lochridge hasn't been given the chance at SS!!!!

Yep. Current SS is not moving Conrad or BT out of MIF. Jace had 7 total errors his last two seasons here. Current guy is more than double through 1.5 seasons and yes it's a different position, but still not even close to the same level.

I don't think either Bougeois or Cantrelle would have cracked that lineup, but the post seemed to be questioning Bougeois but not Cantrelle or Lott. I gave one factor that went right in the face of the analysis against Bourgeois.

Again, Leonards was the starting 3B, not Shug. I don't think Cantrelle would have supplanted Leonards. Cantrelle's only hope I think would be the outfield with that 2014 lineup, specifically replacing Butler.

The second half of the 2019 Ragin' Cajuns baseball season began yesterday with a 4-3 win over Troy.

A season of promise has been sabotaged by injuries, but there's nothing that can be done about that.

First two lines of Jay’s article today. Boy I hope we turn this around because the excuse train is gonna be nauseating if we don’t.

Actually, we had some pretty poor hitting years under Szefc as well.
